What is an APFC panel and how does it work?
Motors, transformers and air conditioners draw reactive power from the grid. This does no useful work, but you can be charged for it. An APFC panel contains a bank of capacitors and an automatic controller. The controller measures your power factor continuously and switches capacitor stages on and off as your load changes, so you always have the right amount of correction without overcorrecting.

- We supply and install. The panel is built to the agreed specification, then installed, tested and handed over.
- We track the result. We review the next bills with you to confirm kVAh has moved closer to kWh.

Do I need an APFC panel?
If your bill shows a power factor below about 0.95, a power factor penalty, or high kVAh compared with kWh, correction is likely to help. Send us a recent bill and we will tell you.
How do I know what size of panel I need?
It depends on your load in kW, your present power factor and your target. For example, a 100 kW load at 0.80 corrected to 0.98 needs about 55 kVAR. We confirm the final size after checking your site.
Can you service or upgrade my existing panel?
Yes. If capacitors are failing, contactors are tripping or the panel no longer matches your load, we inspect it and repair or replace what is needed.
How long does installation take?
Most panels are installed and commissioned in a few days after the design is approved. Larger sites take longer.
Do you supply outside Kalyan?
